The Shelby Cobra GT500KR will make it’s way into the world in the spring of 2008, marking the 40th anniversary of this classic American car. The Shelby Cobra GT500KR will come with a 5.4 liter, supercharged V-8 engine, packing 540 hp, 510 ft-lbs. of torque, and a 6-speed transmission with short-throw shifter. The Shelby Cobra’s exterior will maintain the original design, including the elevated hood scoop and classic Cobra logo. This brainchild of Carol Shelby first appeared in 1968, selling more than 1,500 units in the first year. With the 40th anniversary Shelby Cobra, there will only be an initial run of only 1,000 units, each with all-leather interior seats, embroidered headrests, and an official Shelby Cobra GT500KR mounted dash plate. Once again, the Shelby Cobra will be crowned king of the road.
